How do I become my own DNS host?

I have two internal domain / dns / dhcp servers in my organization (Server 2003) and I want to become my own authoritative DNS server.  How do I do this?  Would it be more cost effective to just use godaddy.com to register the domain?

I have just moved from a hosted email provider to an internal Exchange server.

I would think sticking with GoDaddy would work best since they will be up 99.99% of the time whereas you may have ISP issues, Power Failure and other issues where your authoritative server might be unavailable.
