Ordinal 442 could not be located in dll of oleaut32.dll

I have tried to download and replace oleaut32.dll but still get the message "Ordinal 442 could not be located in the dynamic link library of oleaut32.dll" It appears whenever I open the computer and whenever I download a program.(I've also tried some of those registry fix ones that have to be paid for - they didn't fix it).  i'm not sure if it actually affects anything. The only other issues I have are with flash not working and internet explorer add-ons stopped working. These may be separate problems though. I am using Vista and IE8.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It probably is due to an incompatibility between Oleaut32.dll  and the programs trying to use it.  It sounds like a program has overwritten it with an older version.

Have you tried running "sfc /scannow"?
