Increas Signal Strength of WRT54GC

Hi,
I have a Linksys WRT54GC for 5 years, Since last month i see the signal strength being dropping considerably.

Is it common to have the signal dropped when the router gets aged :( ?

Should i go for a new router or can i get some antenna or something that will increase or boost the signal on the router?

If an antenna is suggested what should i go for?

Regards,

there are numerous things that can affect wifi so has your environment changed before the dramatic drop

your wifi ariel could have become internally damaged you can get new ariels to test that cheaply

you can now just about get a proper 802.11n router

see http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&q=802.11n+router&meta=&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=8247b572451dd37f

I have a draytek vigor 2820 vn that does draft n v2.00
