Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error (C:\...\Templates\ScanSoftPDF.dot

It takes forever for Word to come up. When Word finally displays itself it displays the message above. Then the software shuts itself down.

How am I to resolve this problem?

Thanks!

Under %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates, try renaming ScanSoftPDF.dot to .OLD.....

Might need to run a repair of ScanSoft to rebuild that template.... Unless you dont use it. Should still be able to print to the PDF printer with no problem......

Also, you can repush the permissions on the above Templates folder......

Thank you johnb6767 for your suggestion!
Unfortunately renaming ScanSoftPDF.dot to .OLD does not work.
When I rename ScanSoftPDF.dot to .OLD startup Microsoft Word it creates a new ScanSoftPDF.dot

BTW, I just uninstalled the ScanSoft product. Now when I invoke Microsoft Word it comes up without a problem.
Why is that?
Could there be a problem with ScanSoft???

Sounds like the Addin was removed, so the problem became a non issue.....
