IE 8 opens slow on WIndows 7

HI,
I have a dell Inspiron running windows 7. The issue is with IE 8.  When you open IE 8. It will take about a minute before the page will appear. after that you can click on links or go to another web page and it opens fine. It only takes a minute when first opening IE8 or opening a new tab will also take a minute to open. I also have firefox installed and that opens right away everytime. I have removed all plugins to see if that may be the issue but the speed has not changed. Any Ideas?

Tried running regsvr32 actxprxy.dll from command prompt and rebooted. NO CHANGE still takes about a minute to open a web page.

Try resetting IE to it's factory state. It's likely an add-on causing it. Tools>internet options>advanced> reset all settings.

Sorry for the late response was away for a few days. But I tried resetting IE like you said and the problem did not go away.
Scythe000Commented:
You did the full factory reset? The one that deletes all favorites and such?

Yes

1. Can you disable your antivirus temporarily to test?
2. Are you running Spybot?
3. Is Java fully updated?
4. Try disabling Java
5. Make sure to have the latest updates for IE8
