I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

CFxx keywords cause control to return from the screen to the program, and return any data that was changed in I or I/O fields on the screen.

CAxx keywords also return control to the program, but discard any changes made to I or I/O fields.

Use CF when you want to keep data that was entered, and CA when you don't need it.

Use CAxx for keys like:
F3 to exit
F5 to refresh
F12 to return
As Gary indicates, you probably don't want any data from the screen for these actions.

Use CFxx for the other function keys.

Hope this helps!
