Expert,

above subject is refer. i have 2 question are require to resolve
1.       my removable storage service having sign X in red. When I open it it shows that

the server cannot be started, either because it is disabled or it has no devices associated with it
the snapin's display may be inconsistent with the removable storage service. If the problem persist please restart the snapin

2.       on hardware devices, tape is not detected, LSI adapter ultra320 scsi 2000 series, w/1020/1030 - scsi port  is not fuctioning.

Well, the adapter isn't working now, and during POST it tells you it is sick.  I would contact LSI monday and see about the next step.  A warranty replacement may be in order. Bottom line, you have proof problem is the adapter, so now you can just replace it with something else and move on. Then all should be well.

Well first, this is a hardware problem, so you can eliminate the hard stuff like drivers & software.

1. Visually inspect cabling & terminators. If they were screwed in, and are still screwed in, then chances are good that nothing changed there.
2. If above is Ok, then either the Adapter died, or the tape died.  If the adapter has a different port, then connect to that port, reboot, and look at the adapter's BIOS and see if it now detects the tape.  If so, then reconfigure to use this alternate path and all is well.
3. If adapter does not see tape then source a SCSI disk drive, and plug it into the adapter. If it sees the disk, then you know it is the tape drive.   If you do not have another SCSI adapter, get one, because the alternative is to buy another tape drive to test the adapter.

Most likely the DAT 72 died.

You gave a lot of good info ... based on the attachment, either the LSI adapter is broken or there is a driver problem.   First go to the BIOS (don't know the keystroke off top of head) and click the sequence to look into the LSI SCSI adapter.  It should have an option to scan the bus and report what is there.  If it sees the tape drive, then this confirms a software/driver issue.

If it does not see the tape, then it is hardware.  If you have another PC with a SCSI adapter, then try that machine, maybe even swap out SCSI adapters.

I haven't try checking in BIOS configuration.

press F8 for bios but I can see any word of LSI scsi adapter. the only useful configuration can be found is ILO standard. i had also entered utility configuration by press down ctrl + s. apparently is all about normal info such as, serial no, etc.

how to get this LSI SCSI adapter scanning. on my server machine

This is a good indication that the adapter failed.  Nothing special about the LSI adapter, find an adaptec adapter if you can.  the tape driver and application software won't care if you a different SCSI card.    Maybe try reseating the card, or even putting the card in a different slot.

Expert,

FYI, I had found an error while rebooting the server, but I always ignore it. The error as follow

Proliant system bios...
....

Redundant ROM detected - This system contains a valid backup system ROM
1615 - power supply failure , power supply unplugged , or power supply fan failure in bay 1

LSI logic Corp. MPT bios
...
...

error ! Adapter Malfunctioning  !
error ! Adapter Malfunctioning  !

LSI logic Corp. MPT boot ROM, no support devices found

does it referring to failure of LSI scsi adapter as internal ROM attached to the computer
