fax not detected by my computer for HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf MFP!

I have HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf MFP connected to the network, and I am configuring a fax server(win 2003 ent), I install the driver of HP , when I go to programs -->hp>>setup the fax> it is giving the device is disconnected or power off!!!!! please advise?

please follow the instructions in above link, it will work! yes even if its connected through Network you need to have a firmware upgrade probably! plz check the links i have posted above!

is there any risk that it could damage?

yes there exists a slight risk of damaging the machine , thought it will only be a software damage not a physical one that too if you end up updating firmware incorrectly! (its not a serious damage!)
if you are scared to proceed performing this i would recommend you to contact HP online support or local service locator!

if you are brave and patient enough you could fix the printer by following the above links else i advice you to call the support, if its under warrant you wont be charged a penny!

I will do it by my self , the hp support is poor, even if it got damaged they will say repair it under your account

oh! ok .. just go for the firmware upgrade along with any driver/software update if it is required! dont worry you wont end up ruining your printer, just be cautious and properly apply follow the instructions mentioned in the links !
