Exchange 2007 on SBS broke with SP2 upgrade

I support an SBS 2008 box that was having some issues. One of the recomendations was to upgrade all software to current versions. Exchange 2007 was on SP1 so I used the SBS 2008 Exchange 2007 SP2 upgrade tool to install SP2. Right after deleting a bunch of exchange files and starting to copy new files the updated errored out and died. I could not re-run it as it said a reboot was pending. I restarted the server and the update will not run at all as it keeps saying I need to update SBs 2008 before and after installation :

As it stands currently OWA and RWW are dead with scripting errors.

I have re-installed SP1 and gotten the OWA and RWW services started. I now need to install SP2. When I try and run the SBS tool mentioned in the article above (which I had used previously) I get a message that Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Exchange 2007 is already installed.

I have followed the Microsoft KB article listed above and created the regstry key. When I try and run the SP2 installed it tells me the roles are already installed and will not let me continue.

Phone Microsoft and since it is their program that stuffed up your server it should be a free call. Keep reminding them of this fact.

I actually re-installed Exchange 2007 SP1 and then tried to update to SP2. SP2 informed me that it was already installed. Windows Update then installed the Rollup for Exchange 2007 SP2 without any problems. System inidcates that is is on Exchange 2007 SP2 with the rollup.Everything is working great without any complaints. This does make me a bit nervous, though.
