WAMP won't load pages properly

I'm running WAMP on Windows XP and when I attempt to load a page say with Joomla  it won't complete i.e. page remains to be 'loading' (see image attached, notice admin logos aren't loading).

I have searched the Joomla forums for help but unsuccessful.

I run Joomla 1.1.15
WampServer 2.0
PHP Version 5.3
Apache version 2.2.11
MySQL version 5.1.36
Windows Firewall & Norton Internet Security Firewall are both on but problem persists if they are switched off.

Can anyone here help me solve this problem? I just want to run Joomla on my local machine!

No Attachment, but it sounds like a path problem(s)

sorry here it is
Untitled-1.jpg
what do you mean by path problem?
An easy and faster way is to backup your joomla and uninstall/reinstall WAMP. See your machine speed(%).
does anything else run at http://localhost?
does an html file run at http://localhost/file.html?
Does a stand alone php file run at http://localhost/joomlapath/file.php?
Are the two path statements in configuration.php pointing to the joomla installation (c:/wampp/htdocs/joomlapath/...)?
Most pages will run at localhost including html files, it's only the admin home page & website home page that don't completely load.

I have attempted to uninstall/reinstall WAMP & XAMPP, problem persists.

Also joomla_php- the two path statemnts in config.php are of the format:
C:\\\\wamp\\\\www\\\\

could the additional \\\ symbols be causing the problem?
yes it's perfectly legal to say c:/wampp/

The backslashes are escaped more than once.
But if other pages are running then that's not the issue.
so just localhost/joomla/index.php and localhost/joomla/administrator/index.php are the problem?
Mostly localhost/joomla/index/php. It's intermittent in the admin area but always happens on the homepage.

I think it may be due to any remote content that needs to be loaded, e.g. facebook module, could that be the problem?
sure - unpublish the possible offender to see if that clears it up
Removed Facebook fan box & google analytics tracking script & still the same problem. The page has appeared to have completely loaded but the web browser keeps saying 'loading'.
can you paste the html source of the page that's not finishing?
Sure, here it is.

By arranging the vineyard so that it looks like a ballerina’s tutu, the vines are sculpted into growing naturally ripe, racy fruit. Lazy Ballerina is produced by James Hook ~ Viticulturist. Together with father Paul and mother Pat, James’ runs a small operation based across the road from Kuitpo Forest in the Hills above McLaren Vale. Almost plasticy, but forget that. I shouldna said it. That’s royal grenache when it’s lively. Sicko junketty fruits gradually shove through, and an incredible shopful of dark, acrid spices and powders, known and not. It’s gradually, but irresistably seductive in its sultry mood, operatic in the size of its natural live fruit miasma, and really dry and slender, like fine latté coffee texture if not sniff. Bone dry. Like the ground-up stuff they turn into bone china in the furnace. (Another blow to the rest: McLaren Vale bush vine grenache is walloping all other regions. Unless you get the 2009 torch, when the Vales grenache was in veraison, and largely perished.) This gradually opens to reveal a gentle, fresh fruit syrup, and the wine seems to want to take you by the slow hand and show you around itself, and I mean its own house, it's own insides, but only if you’re patient and compliant. Be. Be. Three dry-grown grenache vineyards are in here, averaging eighty years of age. That’s laps of the Sun, completed. Ridiculous price! as an html file it loads fine here. So the culprit would either be the facebook links (intermittent) or wamp. Can you paste the code you pasted for me into a local html file file.html in the joomla install directory.

Then load it in the browser as File, Open and browse to it
The load it in the browser as http://localhost/joomlainstall/file.html

Do either of these hang?
Loaded as a file it works fine (without CSS) but through localhost it still hangs.

yes that fixes it but why is it  that after a while this issue will keep re-occurring?
Check c:/wamp/apache/logs to see if there's anything useful there.
The error log file is 22MB!! All sorts of stuff in there & I wouldn't know where to look. I will award points for this thread as you've got me out of trouble but may post another thread to try and pinpoint the error. Your help is appreciated.
