I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

One other thing, is it possible that those 7MB would reach the mail database quota?

Have you tried to increase the max message size setting?
What then happens?

The error you reported are different but they are definitely related:
523: The Recipient’s mailbox cannot receive messages this big
552: Requested mail actions aborted – Exceeded storage allocation.

Did you restart the router or the server?

Hi,

Not sure on this but all email with attach file are encoded and in the end the message is almost double the size of the original message.

So if your lotus message limit is 10 MB I'm pretty sure that a 7 MB attachment wont go through .

Try to send a 4 MB email attach file and go see how big is your email in your lotus env.

Just my 2 ¢

Is Domino rejecting or do you have a spam filter that receives inbound email for your domain and relays to Domino?   Then it could be a restriction in the spam server.  Do you see any errors showing up in the Domino console/log?

The size of mail message is the size of all data fields and attachments combined.

Have you tried to increase the max message size setting?
What happens then?

Hi

it's true that the message size is the sum of all it's component.

BUT when you attach a file like a picture a zip file or a binary file it will get uuencode which will take lot more space than the original file.

I just send to my self a 5.8 M video an the email is 8 MB.

So youre 7 MB email file could be just over your 9.76 MB limit.

Bye
