HP Color Laser Jet 5500 error

I have an HP Color LaserJet 5500 (networked) in one of the buildings I administer that is having a problem. Whenever users try to print multiple copies of a document the first copy will print and then the next page that comes out has the following information:

Error: Unable to store job at printer
Reason: Printer not configured to coallate
Solution: Install an EIO hard disk

When I looked on HPs site they gave me the following solution:

Turn off the RAM disk function.

I first did a cold reset of the printer. That did not fix the problem. I then turned off the RAM disk function. That did not help the problem.

In my organizations printer hardware must be worked on by Teir III technicians so I cannot install an EIO hardisk.

Has anyone had any experience with this error before? Does anyone know a fix?

I would roll back to a PCL 5 driver first off in case an update caused this.

Then I would go to your driver properties and the device settings tab and scroll down to the installable options section then locate "Job Storage" and "mopier mode" Disable both.

See if that resolves your problem.

One other thing you can try is:

Right-click the printer and select properties. Click the Advanced tab.
Towards the bottom of that page click on Print Processor.
Make sure the print processor is set to WinPrint and default data type to RAW.
