Lotus Notes 8.5.1 question on tabs and default font

Two questions:

- How do I change one of the workspace tabs default workspace tab to come up above the other workspace tabs when notes first comes up after login?

- How do I change my default font in notes (the one that comes up when you are entering an email).

Set your tabs just the way you want them to be in notes and then do a file exit and when you open notes again it should have the same layout that you closed with

Tried that and not working.  Always starts back in the tab I don't want.
For the fonts go to File----Prefences----Basic Notes Client config

The workspace is an old-fashioned interface, still very popular with developers and "real" users, but it lacks a lot. What you describe isn't possible, AFAIK. All you can do is swap those two tabs: create a temp workspace tab, move all icons from one tab to the temp tab, etc.

Great info about the tabs.  I will do that.

As for the fonts, when I click on file / preference I don't have a basic notes config.  I am using version 8.5.1.  Thanks,

Do you have any of the other options when you go to File->Preference such as Accounts, contacts, calendar and to-do? The basic notes client config should be there in 8.5.1

But, one other thing to note because this question comes up a lot about default fonts. You cannot change the default font size/color for new messages. This is hard coded into the template. You can only change the default font type (serif, times new roman, etc, etc)
