I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Look for the Sokftware Development Kits on the Intuit Web Site. For example, you could start here:

Thank you thinkpads_user, I have looked at the page and registered has a developer.

We would like to generate a file and that the end user would transfer this file to QuickBooks, is it possible to do that ?

QuickBooks can import an .IIF file (which is an information file). Most anything else must be done with software development and the interfaces that Intuit defines with its SDK. Developers have done this (Atandra, Expsoltech, and I am sure others). For everyday use without these interfaces, QB needs .IIF files.

Is it possible to générate this files (.IIF) with C# ?

JohnBusiness Consultant (Owner)Commented:
An IIF file is a text file that can be generated by a program, so I expect it can by C #. The best way to see the format (somewhat tacky) is to go to QuickBooks and export a list (like a customer list) as an IIF file. Then pull it up in a (good) text editor and look at the format. You can match data to the customer list as printed in QuickBooks. ... Thinkpads_User

Are you sure that this will let configure account for marchidise providers and a liste of dayly transactions ?

Is there is no better way then gessing the content of the file ? There is no documentation about all that ?

If not we will have to go with that.

Thank you ZillionTech:, thank you thinkpads_user:!

Let's be clear here.

1. An IIF file is not for data (transactions) but for lists (accounts, vendors, customers, etc,) There is documentation for this. Go to QuickBooks Help and search on IIF Files. I tried to be clear about this earlier, but perhaps it was not clear.

2. For daily transaction data, you need to use the QuickBooks SDK and build your own transfer method or find a vendor (such as the ones I mentioned). If you build your own, you will have to look in the SDK for data structures. There is no user documentation that I am aware of. If you use a vendor then they will have the necessary documentation.
