Problems with HP 6110 OfficeJet

The problem is with Scandest2003.exe.   It won't work on either my laptop or server.  Laptop is Win xp pro; server is Server 2003.   When I try to install Scandest2003.exe, i get the message listed below.

Installation of the drivers has been problematic on both computers.

i DO have MS Office 2003, or whatever the latest one is.   I just need to get the scanner to work!

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If it's  ScanDestOffice2003.exe, HP says: Compatibility:      Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP.  Not Server 2003.

So why won't it load on my XP Pro machine?

Is this the same laptop in your other question?  It could be you don't have the complete driver files.

I believe I have them all.    I've installed the printer on many other computers. These two are problematic for some reason.

Scan destination is part of the SW package and imaging device funtions, not the driver package. If your printer drivers are already installed just get updated SW from the following link.
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL26246/mp-67070-1/OJP8500vA909_full_12_en.exe
This is for the OJ Pro 8500. Just install as a USB printer and when it comes to the connection, check the box that says you'll hook it up later. This method will overwrite the older SW and any errors associated with it.
