"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I believe the specs of Bold 9000 states that it has expendable memory storage up to 32GB. Can you try that route?

as far as I am aware, the email data only gets stored in the in-built memory of 1GB of device RAM.  You can re-task some other apps such as camera and saving of attachments to the storage card, but not the actual encrypted data.

All apps are installed onto the device too.  the high volume of email you want to store may not be possible, as the lower the resources go, the more the device switches to 'scavange' mode and will delete older emails (device will only hold up to the last 30 days or so), calendar entries, SMS/MMS messages and call logs to free up resources.
Apps can't be stored anywhere other than OS flash memory, so in the case of the Bold 9000 that's a max of 128MB, with much of that being used for device OS.

Best way is if you have BES 4.1.6 or higher then you can perform a remote-search on all mail stored within any folders under "Inbox" (and subfolders). Then you don't need to have it stored locally as you can search, find, open, download, forward, and reply to it as if it were on your blackberry.
