Exchange Message Submitted to categoriser

Hi,

Sporadically I am getting instances of mail not being delivered locally to store and the ESM says that it was submitted to categoriser but goes no further. We have both AV and AS and I have checked both for the missing mail but no joy. I have checked another post on EE and Simon has indicated that if the message is not in the queue, AV or AS quarantines, then its gone.  What I would like to know is:  what causes this? and if it continues to happen to the user in question, what can I do about it. Other suggestions are exmerge mailbox to a pst and recreate the whole user account? I felt this might be a bit heavy handed but .........don't know. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks

what version of store.exe and phatcat.dll are you running?

HI  -phatcat.dll is version 6.5.7638.1 and store.exe is version 6.5.7638.2

Which I recommend you install the hotfix from and messages should no longer get stuck

But to be honest, just installing Q950757 or Q957496 should fix your issue.

HI,

I installed Q950757 and after the reboot some users got NDR messges about emails that they send a week or so ago  -one client received email today that was sent originally a week ago -  this happens from time to time, specifically when I reboot the server- any ideas?

Sounds like messages are still getting stuck... Install http://support.microsoft.com/kb/957496/en-us which is a later version of the same files...

Did you upgrade store.exe too?

Used the GreyList Bug registry entry and will apply both store.exe and 957496 and continue to monitor thanks

Hi,

Rebooted the server this mornning for unrelated reason and as yet there have been no reports of NDR messages, so, fingers crossed!  Thanks.
