Microsoft Dynamics GP

For a  company having multiple sites having the policy that   users of one site should not access the sales transaction of another sites. In GP it is difficult to make setup.

Creating new company will not solve the problem.

Any better suggestions...?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I don't believe this is possible to accomplish with one company in GP without a very complex customization.  The typical way we have done this for clients in the past is to set up multiple companies.  Why do you say this will not solve the problem in your case?

We have centralised  purchase, accounts deparments in the head office. Warehouse is also centrailised.

We have 11 showrooms and each shworoom has separate  sale transactions serails.  one showroom should not access another showrooms sales transactions.  Showrooms have their own inventory .

Well, there are 3 ways to do this:

1. Training / Trust.  You train your users to only sell from their own inventory.  You trust that they are going to use the system as they have been taught.

2. Separate companies for each showroom.  This will ensure that users cannot do something you don't want them to.  Purchasing and inventory movement is more complicated and may require some customization, certainly custom reporting.  There is a product from MC2 called Advanced Intercompany that allows for intercompany inventory and POP transactions that can help with this.  However if you are still on GP 8.0, you will most likely need to upgrade before you can purchase an add-on.

3. A lot of customization.  Sometimes a business requirement cannot be met any other way.  If so, a customization is your only option.  Depending on your specific requirements this can turn into a very large and complicated project, but it may give you the best end result.  Again, if you're still on GP 8.0, consider upgrading before customizing.
