using jquery marquee

I am using the jquery Marquee by:

Giva Labs
Marquee jQuery Plug-in v1.0.01

But that is probably not working:

it gives an error:

$("#marquee").marquee is not a function

Line 34

So here is what i have defined:

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.3.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="jscode/jquery.marquee.js"></script>
<link type="text/css" href="css/jquery.marquee.css" rel="stylesheet" media="all" />

and then below like this:

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function (){
  $("#marquee").marquee();
});
</script>

<ul id="marquee" class="marquee">
<cfoutput query="listRecipies">
  <li>
    #rcp_content#
  </li>
</cfoutput>
</ul>

Now data is loaded dynamically, i checked it and ok!

each content is appearing in separate LI

also i tried to use the

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function (){
  $("#marquee").marquee();
});
</script>

at the bottom of the page also but not working..

Please tell me what is wrong!

Often this is caused by a bad reference to your script file.  If you replace your script reference with this, does it work?

OK, let's start with a basic example.  This works for me.  Does it work for you?
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
	<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
	<script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js"></script>
	<script type="text/javascript" src="http://remysharp.com/downloads/jquery.marquee.js"></script>
</head>

<body>

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function (){
  $("#marquee").marquee();
});
</script>

<ul id="marquee" class="marquee">
<cfoutput query="listRecipies">
  <li>
    Hi there
  </li>
</cfoutput>
</ul>

The example I posted here is the MOST BASIC version of this plugin (or any jquery function for that matter).  So, my next question would be perhaps your web browser is not allowing ANY javascript.  If that is the case, no jquery or jquery plugin will work.  Could security settings on your browser be an issue?

As a simple test, does the following code work for you?
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
        <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
        <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4/jquery.min.js"></script>

</head>

<body>

<script type="text/javascript">
$(document).ready(function (){
  alert("I am jquery-triggered");
});
</script>

</body>
</html>
