SSRS - Quarter Year Parameter Needed

Hello all,

I don't have a table in a database currently but I need to create a hardcoded parameter where I will have for example:

QTR 1 - 2008 as the text display and then in my dataset that I do have a query for I need to take that parameter and get the start and end date into two parts of the query for example:

WHERE START_DATE = Parameter1.QuarterSelect (this is where I need to figure out the 1/1/2008 and then AND END_DATE = Parameter1.QuarterSelect  (this is where I need to figure out the 3/31/2008.

Is there a way I can do this without having an actual dataset in a database but being able to decipher it through a table somehow in the report?

If you are using a standard Qtr 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 as in months then you already have a parameter value you could use in your dataset. Qtr = 1 or 2 or 3 or 4
This way you already know the months you need. Just setup your query to test for the incoming parameter of 1 or 2 or 3 or 4  and pull your data for your report.
