Where do I find an antique pocket watch?

My grandpa's birthday is coming up and I want to find him an antique pocket watch like one he had when he was younger but all the searches I do online result in ones that are thousands of dollars. Are all pocket watches from the early 1900s in that price range? Any advice for where I should look for a more reasonably priced watch that I can trust is real? Thank you.

ebay. but you need some idea of what you looking for.
the prices as you say, get quite silly. there are some new onesIng kong which have mechanical movements  which are quite cheap but I'm not sure what they are really like. I managed to win  a watch with no particular makers name and the gol dplate wearing through for about 40 GBP. It does have a nice even tick and keeps very good time. Watches with better pedigrees were sellingfor several hundred pounds. It's worth putting a bid on anything you are interested in just to see the final price and give you some idea of the market.

That is what I did when I was looking for a watch. I have a sensitivity to metals so I needed a sterling or white gold watch. I went to several shops and ended up buying a nice one for not too much money. I ended up buying a 1926 Benrus 17 jewel Swiss watch, with a 18k white gold case. It was only $150. That was several years ago, but it doesn't hurt to go and take a look.
