Can't connect to XenApp 5 default config?

I'm setting up XA5 on Server 2003 for the first time.  I'd like to use streaming applications only, to start.  Do I still need to install the TS role, since I won't be using TS features?  Streamed applications are pulled from a file share, if I understand right.

The problem I'm having is that I can't connect to the XA server with the online plugin.  I have configured a Services and regular Web site, and config.xml appears to exist.

However, online plugin continues to report "Citrix on-line plugin could not contact the server.  Please check your network connection."

I've tried to keep everything as defaut as possible, any suggestions what I could be missing?

TS role is NOT installed, and no users have been added to RDP groups.  For streamed apps, it seems like neither should be necessary?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Have you entered the full path for the config.xml file in the online plugins server url??

It automatically populates that information after I type in the server name, I couldn't edit it if I tried.

For instance, if I type server-1 , it shows http://server-1/Citrix/PNAgent/config.xml

1. Open local IE (Internet Exploere) and enter this path in your address and see if you can open this config.xml from your client machine.

2. Try adding IP address instead of server name 'server-1'.
