Exchange 2007 SP2 Upgrade error
Trying to install EX2007 SP2 in preparation for 2010 migration, giving this error:
The well-known object entry with GUID 6c01d2a7-f083-4503-8132-78 9eeb127b84 on the otherWellKnownObjects attribute on the container object CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Co nfiguratio n,DC=sms,D C=edu refers to a non-USG CN=Exchange Servers,OU=Microsoft Exchange Security Groups,DC=sms,DC=edu. Please either delete the well-known object entry or promote the target object to a universal security group.
The object it is talking about is already a USG, and I am reluctant to delete the group. I have used ASDI edit to look at the properties and made sure they did not have any invalid characters

I have done the otherwellknowobject check in asdi edit. That value is not set
Try running PrepareAD on exchange 2007. This will set the defualt permissions for security groups.

Ok Problem resolved the otherwellknow attribute on CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Co nfiguratio n,DC=sms,D C=edu had a semicolonfor the value. It would not let me change it at first and took about 5 or 6 tries before I was able to edit it.
Used LDP.exe to select the well know naming context of configuration and then looked at the properties of cn= Microsoft exchange and the other wellknownattribute was set incorrectly there. Thans for everyones assistance
