Linksys QuickVPN client ok?

Originally, I was trying to not have a vpn client at all, but this Cisco QuickVPN doesn't sound too intrusive.

What do you think?

What are the odds that installing this will screw up user's home pc's and cause me lots of grief?

Just curious,
Thanks,
Mike

QuickVPN isn't messing up your system. It runs smooth, without issues I know of.

If you want to look for (free) alternatives, you can try ShrewSoft VPN (www.shrew.net). It is very versatile, and the Wiki on that site has configuration tutorials for many devices ready.

I'm just beginning to research this.  For some reason, I assumed the cisco quickVPN was free.

I'm looking now on pricing.

Thanks,

I saw a 50 pack of quickvpn lic at amazon for $112, but it mentioned a specific  (and rather old linksys router model) that didn't even support WPA.

What would be a $100-$200 linksys router that might support 50 users and quickvpn?

Ah yes, forgot that ... QuickVPN is still "LinkSys", not Cisco. As a low-budget solution, it will never be supported for Cisco devices (and I think there is no maintenance anymore).

Well, you didn't say you do not have a VPN device, and I mixed that up with another question - hence my mentioning of Cisco. Sorry.

I don't know the Linksys devices enough to give buyers guidence. You will have to look yourself ;-). I would look for devices running (or able to run) OpenWRT, that is a real improvement over the Linksys firmware.
