Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts

I am trying to connect from Integration Services 2008 to a database in MySQL 5.1. The steps are actually
1. Install the driver for MYSQL. NET
2. Enter the appropriate data and I can not connect, I get the error: Unable to connect to Any of the specified MySQL hosts.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you allowed to connect from your IP Address for user root?

Do you have something else like MySQL Query Browser or WorkBench that connects successfully using root from your PC?

The port is configured in the Integration Services is 3306 and coincides with the server, MySQL database
Finally, I have 2 errors: 1. When I click the combo list database: disable to retrieve the list (see image) 2. Click the Test Connection button: I get error with the provider
