Event ID: 1309 ASP.NET 2.0 warning in Event viewr

Hello,

Our web page stopped working, and when I looked at the event viewer, I found our application log full of the following events listed at bottom of this message.

I was able ot get our website backup and running by restarting IIS.

Does anyone have qan idea as to why our website crashed and how to prevent it from happening in the future? Our Website is hosted on a Windows 2003 server R2 machine.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi,
I think this one is hard to track down, as the ASP.Net error is a generic one and the actual error message comes from your code:
Exception information:
    Exception type: InvalidOperationException
Exception message: Nullable object must have a value.
So I suspect this is somewhere in your website code. Do you see any other error's before the crash, like your server running out of memery, high CPU peaks, faulted logon events from Network Service?

Unfortunately, all I have to torubleshoot are the event viewer logs, unless so other logs are generated that I am not aware of.

I myself am not experienced with ASP.NET, but my Web Design company is. Of course, the web design company passes the buck, and says it is not an error on their part since the web site has been up and running for more than a year.

I believe it to be a programming error.

Is there anything else I can look for?

Thanks,

Mark

check the IIS logfiles. by default those are under C:\windows\system32\logfiles\W3SVC_WebsiteID_Here and there's an HTTP errorlog folder as well. See if you find anything else there.
