Cisco ASA 5510 backup

I am trying to backup the configuration on my Cisco ASA 5510. I have the ASDM software that I use and when I try to back it up it asks me to browse for a file. What kind of file is it looking for?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

What are you selecting in the ASDM?

For an external backup it is usually  FILE - SAVE RUNNING CONFIG TO TFTP SERVER.

Let me throw this out there...   for my backups I use CATTools.   Its free for 20 devices and lets you schedule backups and keeps historicals with change reports.  Excellent tool.
From ASDM click 'Tools' -> 'Backup Configurations'. Click 'Browse Local' -> choose a location for your backup and type a name for it in the 'file name' box. Click 'select file' and 'backup'. The configs will be backed up to a zip file with the name you have chosen.
