Troubleshooting Synergy connection issues

I have a Macbook Pro (OS X 10.6.3) connecting to Vista Home Premium.  The Vista box is sharing.  In the Vista Synergy log, I see:

client "Macbook-Pro" has connected
client "Macbook -Pro" is dead

Any ideas why this happens?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Try entering the IP address instead of the name.

This may help

Where do I enter that?
In the screen where you define which machine is the server and client, you can enter the machines IP instead of a name for it.

I tried that.  Basically, the IP changes to something like 19216809 on my Mac, since it is the computer name.  That is what I enter into Synergy's screen name on the Vistabox.  However, it does the same thing as when I had Macbook-Pro for the name:

client "19216809" has connected
client "19216809" dead

it keeps doing that.  Any ideas why it doesn't stay connected?  I don't actually see that the connection is successful on the Mac side.  Although I do see it is successful for a few seconds on the Vista box.
Is the firewall enabled on the Windows box? Might be worth turning it off just for testing.
