BO Publishing Wizard -- (Dis)Advantages?

Hello All,
At our place,
1.we deploy the Crystal reports to the BO XI R2 enterprise, by Adding "New Object" -> and browse the network and add the report.

2.We are contemplating to use the Publish Wizard to deploy the reports to the Enterprise.Does deploying the reports through Publish Wizard create a CUID?

Would there be any problems with method 1 versus method 2, in future, when we migrate servers?

Please advise.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The first option is the harder of the two (and there is a third option as well). The second option wont cause issues down the road. But there have been some issues raise with the publishing wizard, it is error proned, it will override the existing CUID if the report already exists. This should really only be used when you are importing many reports.
The third option is actually great for individual reports; using crystal. Once you have the changes in a report, you can save it directly to the server. It do not affect the CUID and there are very few errors that occur in this process.
In all three options there is minimal concern for the future.

Thanks! When trying to replace an existing file using Publishing wizard, it's creating a new file with a (2), instead of replacing it.Can we change it to replace the report?

Thanks again for your valuable input.
