Configure an instance of SQL Server Reporting Services for two server applications

I have two applications (CRM and Connectwise) that need Reporting Services configured. I have one instance of SQL Server 2005. Is it possible to configure Reporting Services for both applications without installing another SQL instance? Thanks.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You should be able to have as many instances of Reporting Services as you need as long as you don't run out of server resources. I have not tried more than two at once (using SSRS 2005), but I don't think it is limited. Just give them different RS and RM virtual root names. You then need to configure the applications to use the appropriate application names.
This is useful if SSRS is configured in some special way, such as with a custom security provider, that only works with one application, or if the application needs complete control of the RS folder tree.

Dead on the money! For my purposes, using CWRS and CWRM for the Report Server Virtual Directory and Report Manager Virtual Directory respectively, worked perfectly. Thanks a lot.

I am glad to hear that because we are preparing to implement Microsoft CRM and I was counting on using a new instance of my existing report server. :-)
