Excel 2007 - Keeps Crashing

Hi All,

I have got a user that keeps having trouble with his Excel Crashing.

This can be once or twice per day or might not occur for a few days, these are the errors we are seeing the in the event log :

Faulting application excel.exe, version 12.0.6425.1000, stamp 49d64dd6, faulting module excel.exe, version 12.0.6425.1000, stamp 49d64dd6, debug? 0, fault address 0x001a2813.

I have tried uninstalling the Office Service Packs and re-installing, and also completely removing office and re-installing but we are still seeing the issues.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks

Paul

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

this problem normally happens when the user is trying to open a file saved with older version.. so try to save the file with newer extension and then check, also check if the compatibility tool is latest....

Hi,

So just try re-saving as an .xlsx file?

Surely this cannot be the only reason this happens?

yea of course this cannot be the only reason, but following the first step is not a bad idea, we have 500 users and normally out of 500- 5 has this issue .. some times powerpoint presentation created in older version show these kind of problems.....
