ASA and Nortel Switch

I have an Cisco ASA 5505 connected to a provider's Nortel Baystack Switch. Apparently when high traffic hits the interface the firewall hangs. At 100 Mbps Full-Duplex hardcoded the ASA was showing high overrun rates and dropping traffic to devices on the network. However, after removing the hard-coding the operation is apparently normal. Interface negotiated at 100Mbps Full Duplex. I have also upgraded the IOS to 8.22. Anyone ever had a similar issue?

Eventually ended up leaving the auto negotiation on both devices as the Nortel switch was a third party switch.
