Windows detected your registry file is still in use - printer issues

after moving to 2008 server for our domain controller/printer server we have noticed that certain users who print crystal reports are getting printer errors.

After checking the printer server log i see these errors.

----------------------
Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards.

 DETAIL -
1 user registry handles leaked from \Registry\User\S-1-5-21-1454471165-413027322-682003330-500:
Process 328 (\Device\HarddiskVolume1\Windows\System32\svchost.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-1454471165-413027322-682003330-500\Printers\DevModePerUser
----------------------------------

After moving them back to the old w2k print server, the issues are no more..

Any ideas?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This seems as though the users who are having troubles with Crystal Reports may have different print drivers than those that are not affected. It may help to check this next time you are at the local terminal.  A memory leak is causing this and according to the error message a user or group of users is trying to print in DevMode or some unrecognized printer detail.
