Does exchange 2003 Block .exe attachments natively ?

I need to know if exchange 2003 blocks .exe files without the aide of third party software.  Does exchange 2003 block .exe files all by itslef and can it be configured to do so if by default it does not ?

its not exchange 2003 that blocks it, it will be outlook 2003 or 2007 that will block access to .exe files although this can be overrided

No but I believe Outlook 2003 and 2007 make it by defualt that you can't view the .exe and various other extenstions.
You will need some type of content checker.

There is a patch if you Google it to edit the level 1 2 and 3 classes of attachments for Outlook to let them through

But you should be able to setup a GPO to set the blocking attachements were users can't change it...
