I can't connect to my Rails app remotely (outside local network)

I'm trying to connect to my Rails application that I have running on my server, but each time the connection fails. I can access it through localhost:3000, but when I try myip:3000 it times out.

I have set my router firewall to low, and inbound traffic will work for other applications which listen on different pots. I'm thinking some configuration has been messed up and now it won't allow non-local network connections to connect?

I have a mongrel server running in Aptana RadRails (on Windows) and it worked perfectly up until a few days ago with no explanation why. I did get a new router, but I don't think this is the problem since again as I said earlier I have other programs which can get connections from outside.

Has anyone seen something like this before? Even the simple brand new default Rails app can't get connections.

Wow, 6 hours onto Eircom tech support to find out later that the router does in fact have a defect, be it hardware or the firmware. Everything was in fact perfect, bar a shoddy upgraded router. Strange how the router was happy to accept java TCP connections, but not HTTP connections (thought that was standard TCP also).
