Need something to search offline pst files

I need software to search .pst files that meets the following requirements:

 - the pst files are offline (not loaded into Outlook)
 - the files are not in the same folder
 - the total size of all of the psts together is very large (close to 500 GB)

Can someone please reccommend a reliable, stable product that meets all of these requirements?

Thank you.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you simply wish to locate certain emails, then one workable method is to build a test Exchange Server.
Make sure the server database has indexing enabled, and import all the PST content (can be to just one mailbox).

Then Outlook can be used on thet mailbox to search on any key-words, this includes words located within mail attachments (word, excel, powerpoint etc)

I have used this in the past when many PST files needed to be searched for content.

I'd also like to have some fast searching solution.  I archive our email traffic in a secured mailbox and archive it every 2 weeks or so (SBS 2003 has a 75GB limit and we're too close).  When I need to search for something, I have to load PSTs individually into Outlook and choose those data files in "Search All Mail Items," then use the "Instant Search" which takes any number of hours.  The archives (in 2 week batched PSTs) are on our NAS.  I'm thinking of something like Barracuda Email Archiver or Google's server product.  Something like that that I can load these PSTs into for storage and FAST searchability.
