Config required to Cisco Config Pro from outside?

What all configuration is required on a Cisco router in order for Cisco Configuration Professional to be able to "Discover" the device.  Thanks.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Saying discover you mean beeing able to connect remotely?

Right - be able to connect remotely is really the end goal.  Prior to  order to connecting however CCP goes through a Discover process and that is failing for me.  I have logging on for denied traffic so it doesn't appear to be just an issue of an ACL blocking CCP.  CCP worked fine when I had the 871 router here and I was attached to the inside interface.  Thanks.

You Mean discover via Cisco Configuration Proffesional.

I'm sure you did all that corectly, but just to be safe (sure we didn't mess up in the begining) let's compare your steps with official cisco guide.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/net_mgmt/cisco_configuration_professional/guides/CiscoCPqsg.html

I could paste the configs here, but it's easier to see via cisco website with all their nice pictures.

Of course check the physcial layer also (your lan cable worked elsewhere before, right)

That's looking promising.  Yeah - I would only permit CCP from a single source IP.

IF cisco would let anyone to configure your network device (imagine Academic campus LAN) via this tool, no network would be safe from malicious employees :)
