VMware 3.5 Hard Drive Size

Hi,

I have a VMware server 3.5 with a 3Tb Nas attached to it.

In ESX server it shows 2.7Tb however in Windows it is only showing 0.99Tb

Is this a limitation of 3.5 or is there a trick to get it working?

Thanks

Joe

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi "joestramandinoli"...ESX 3.5 has a 2TB storage limit for datastores. If you add storage larger than that, you can create an "extent" to that datastore (see here for instructions: http://blog.wilmsenit.nl/?p=630), or you can remove the datastore (if no data/VMs are on it), delete the LUN and recreate 2 of equal size then add them as datastores to your host.

Let me know if you have further questions.
