deleted vmdk file ESX4

Hello,

misinterpreting the suggestion found here http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/VMWare/Q_25122605.html, I deleted a filename-000001.vmdk file (via Datastore Browser) only to find out that now the VM won't start at all (file not found!). I still have a filename.vmdk but I don't know what to do with it. How can I make the VM start again?

Thanks a lot!
Jay

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

1.How many VMDKs did the VM have originally ?
2.Did you take snapshots of the VM ?

I was able to mount the existing vmdk file and I recovered pretty much everything I needed.

Thanks anyway!
