I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

HTML5 and CSS3 Fundamentals

Build a website from the ground up by first learning the fundamentals of HTML5 and CSS3, the two popular programming languages used to present content online. HTML deals with fonts, colors, graphics, and hyperlinks, while CSS describes how HTML elements are to be displayed.

Okay fine pallavanj
I don't think there are any feasibility study done on VM, and frankly if it was as real expert strength study I am afraid it would not be favorable.

Personally I have hate love hate relationship with WM, having built many site using WM - more than 10 over the last few months, I have to say I don't sleep well at night. There are just to many issues. One thing is I have no problem using Joomla for a commercial website, but when it comes down to a store - which in my mind - is the core of the business - I don't feel comfortable using a solution where there is only support through a forum/community and the software development is dependent on someone having the time / encouragement to work on it. That being said I have no problems recommending Magento, or even ZenCart. But for a Joomla specific solution I would recommend going with a commercial shopping - like redShop.

Sorry I could not be of better help.

Thanks for your reply Joomstrup.

After exploring the functionalities of the virtuemart, I came to understand that It is excellent for small business on web such as book shop, and shops with basic needs.

However when we go for big businesses which involve
  • multiple vendors,
  • price configuration based on shopper groups,
  • Promotional offers,
  • Upsell (Promoting business by showing related products)
  • Automated shipping, (tracking shipping after order) etc.,
I cannot recommend Virtuemart.
