Report Publish to Web Site

What is the best way to publish a report to a website running IIS? I would like to create a HTML site as oppose to browse the data via the rpt viewer.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can export the report through code to html and open it as a page

A couple of questions:

1. How can I make it so it will generate a "complete" website - with navigation, etc.
2. Will the data be updated in real time as things in the database change or is the site static?

Also forgot to ask how will it integrate the drill down?

Starquest321,

first, when using IIS, you have to get an index.html files and set it in IIS what the default start up is.

second, if you are using reporting service, using Visual Studio 2005 to post the whole thing to http://servername/reportmanagerm, then when doing https://servername/reports, you can see it, this is what we did everyday.

third, I don't know what your report is, a pdf? why don't use frontpage to push it? any kind of web publishing tools can do it.

I am not sure what you mean by publish but I would not recommened frontpage and FPSE to publish. This is outdated technology and not supported anymore.

Use webdav

same idea as me, we are doing more compliated thing like publishing reporting service and it is working for us,.

Remember to set the "deault content page" so that you have a index.html or default.html so that you can "VERIFY" if your site working good.

MMM. . . ok - the report is NOT PDF... I want to create an HTML driven site. The idea is something that is provided by recrystallize -
http://www.recrystallize.com/merchant/details.htm

The question is if Crystal Reports 2008 has a built in feature like that  . . .

No it doesn't.

To build a web site will require you to build it in Visual Studio or some other tool and incorporate the reports into the application or web site.

Starquest321,

It should be you have to create a web site first and then modify it to include your report, use ANY web publishing tools can help you.

Frontpage is one of the example. Or Microsoft expression.
