We have a client that has an interesting problem. They have a help desk that operates solely on OWA-Exchange 2003, which receives a lot of requests that need to be passed on to other departments. The help desk forward the original mail to the relevant departments.
The problem they are having is that most of the emails that are forwarded have the original senders email address removed, thus making it harder for the department to reply to the original email - however some emails that are forwarded have the original sender with their email address in brackets of the form [mailto:email@example.com]
I have checked various settings within Outlook on on OWA and believe I have worked out why some addresses are forwarded and the others are not. It appears that any email address known by the user forwarding the email - be it in their personal contacts or in the GAL, is not included in the forwarded mail.
My question is, is there a setting within Exchange to change this so that all email addresses are visible when forwarding mail?
