I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you can lay your hands on a Windows box, you can get into it. There are several Windows Password Recovery utils out there. I've only ever used the text based boot disks, but they've always worked. The util will blank any account's password.

Simplify Active Directory Administration

Administration of Active Directory does not have to be hard.  Too often what should be a simple task is made more difficult than it needs to be.The solution?  Hyena from SystemTools Software.  With ease-of-use as well as powerful importing and bulk updating capabilities.

Most of those password reset tools are aimed at local machine accounts. I have no idea how they will fair against a domain account. Are you talking about the DOMAIN\Administrator account?

Seen a few that say the same, sounds like a restore from backup may be the only way. I assume there are no other privileged accounts available to login and unlock?

I'm assuming that you can't logon "locally" ot the machine...Have you tried to RDP to the machine?
Is this the admin account you created during install?
