Re: Delete/Recreate Damaged Excjh 2003 Mailbox

I have a Exchange 2003 Mailbox with some kind of corruption. The Mailbox is over 17GB in size. The only backup I have is a PST by exporting; I made last night it  looks ok.
The user uses Entourage Mac 2004 and cannot access the mailbox for the past 3 weeks. It is accessible via OWA and Outlook on a PC. I wanted to delete the mailbox and then recreate an empty one for the user and import from the PST. Does that make sense. I do not have a trusted tape backup.

If it works OK in OWA and Outlook I would say this is an Entourage issue.  17 GB is a lot of email and Entourage will cache this on the local machine.  Check for Disk space issues on the local machine.  Try reducing the size of the mailbox and see if it works.  Try uninstalling and reinstalling entourage or test on a different PC.

Hello,

How many items are in the mailbox? Entourage 2004 has a limit of about 2 millions items in its database. It sounds like you have either exeeded the limit or you have a corrupt Entourage database. If you are over the limit, you will need to clear some items out of the mailbox. If it is a corrupt database, delete and recreate the profile in Entourage.
