User Keeps losing Profile

I recently had a call from one of my users to say that his profile has gone, everytime he logs on he gets the temp local profile. I looked into this and found that wne he enters his username and password he gets a popup box to say that the transfer of a folder to another folder has failed, its as though he was in the middle of moving data around and then if failed and logged him off. When you click ok to this he gets the normal your profile can not be found and gives him a temp local one.  When this user logs onto another workstation on the same domain, everything is fine. I have tried to solve the issue by placing the PC in a workgroup and then back onto the domain, but that didn't work...  has any one any suggestions..   thanks

Have you tried deleting the local copy of the users profile from the problematic machine?

Thanks for your response i will try that as soon as I can log on to the PC in question..
