Mark all incoming email in Outlook 2007 as unread

I'm just throwing this out as I'm looking into solutions on my own. The issue is as follows: I have 15 upper management iPhone users for whom I've set up OWA/POP3 email access to a hosted Exchange server (they don't like the mailbox look of IMAP). The users .pst's are stored on their local machine. Mail is downloaded to the iPhone every hour with no issues. The issue happens when they open Outlook on their local machines and download mail from the server. Regardless if the email has been read or not on the iPhone, Outlook marks it as read. This doesn't happen with all e-mail downloaded to the iPhone but enough to cause some higher ups to miss a few important emails. As a result, this has become a high priority for me. A quick fix would be to just mark all incoming messages into Outlook as uread but there is not a rule for that.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You can´t marke them as not read, but you can mark them with a flag, perhps this helps, if you decide to make a rule for all new incoming mails

Marking them with a flag won't help, soon the entire inbox would be full of flagged email. Any chance of a script to mark them as unread?

Hi, alank2.

The script below will do this.  You'll need to create a rule that fires for all messages, i.e. a rule with no condition, set the rule's action to "run a script" and select this script as the one to run.
Sub MarkAsUnread(Item As Outlook.MailItem)
    Item.UnRead = True
    Item.Save
End Sub
