PuTTY Windows - How to Manage Key Pair Between Windows and Ubuntu Server?

Sorry to keep beating this to death. I have secure-server installed on Ubuntu server. I have PuTTY on Windows. Everything is working. I am just confused about the key pairs. I generated the key pair with "keygen". the key pairs are in my .ssh directory on my server home directory. what is NOT clear is where do I put the public key on Windows? A Google search said put the public key in the "home" directory. Does Windows have a "home" directory that I am not aware of? There is a windows user "ray" under the "Users" folder. I put the key in the folder where I am launching PuTTY.exe from. How do I prove the keys are working?

On the Windows system you need to run Pageant (an SSH authentication agent for PuTTY, PSCP and Plink)

While Pageant is running (with key loaded) you can run Putty and your session will be key authenticated.

>Does Windows have a "home" directory

Yes, it's usually located in "C:\Users\{username}" in Win7 and "C:\Document and settings\{username}" in WinXP and Vista.
