ADO.Net (XML) connection option not available ?

I have Crystal Reporting XI Release2 installed.

I'm creating a new report that needs to use a VB.Net DataSet schema file as it's data source.

I have my .xsd file but when I go into Crystal and Create New Connection, I don't see a ADO.Net option.  I used to have this option so I'm not sure if a dll went bad or what.

I tried registering crdb_adoplus.dll in common files, but that didn't work.

Why do I not have that connection type available?

Thanks

If you using the external version, and not the Visual Studio.NET version inside the IDE, I don't think that you will get that option.

I have it  available with my CR XI R2.  I don't recall installing anything special to get it.

Thanks, I've used this connection type outside of the IDE for the last 3 years and now it dissapeared close to a project deadline!

I actually had Crystal XI installed and was having this issue so I went to Crystal's download page and there was  a service pack named Full Crystal XI Release 2 so I did this which was basically a new install.  I'm still having the issue with this version also, strange!

DO you have CR XI R2 or did you try to use a CR XI R2 service pack on CR XI R1?

The 2 though related ar edifferent products.  There is no direct path from CR XI R1 to CR XI R2 except through a full upgrade and install of CR XI R2.  No service pack changes CR XI R1 to CR XI R2.

I'm going to re-install Crystal XI Developer Edition to see if this option is restored.  For now I will use the IDE in Visual Studio to do my report and use the Project Data as the data source.
