virus in exchange queue

Hi,

My client has an sbs2003 box.  AVG seems to keep picking up emails in the queue with a virus.  A lot of them have things to do with UPS and DHL.  When I look in the queue there are also connectors on retry with emails from postmaster@mydomain.com, to random@mail.mydomain.com.  mail.mydomain.com is the FQDN of the mail server.

The scan brings up no other virus's on the server, or any drives attached.

Can anyone shed any light on what is causing this?

Thanks

Matt

Hi,

The exchange mail queues should not scanned by a File level Anti-Virus Scanner. So exclude the Exchange Database and queue folder from the Anti-Virus scanning.

For scanning the mails you should is Exchange Mail scanning application like AVG for Exchange, Vamsoft and Symantec Mail Security etc...

Hope this helps,

Thanks Shree. But what about the mail in the queue from postmaster on retry? They keep appearing.
