I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

It sounds like a server certificate has been changed.  Other than a database refresh, has anything else changed?
Since you say it is an error connecting to "any" server, then it is most likely client side - try uninstalling local certificates and try again.

There should be some error number recorded along with the above error message. Please post the exact error number from the sql server error log to help you better. This is a generic error and the error number gives us the right direction towards resolution.

The certificate received from the remote server was issued by an untrusted certificate authority. Because of this, none of the data contained in the certificate can be validated. The SSL connection request has failed. The attached data contains the server certificate.
